Captain Ashish Bansal
the founder of One Ocean Academy
was born in Ranchi and is an alumnus of Tolani Maritime Institute (affiliated with BITS Pilani)—one of India’s premier maritime institutions. With years of hands-on experience, he has worked with renowned global shipping companies such as V.Ships, Fleet Management, and more, serving aboard tankers and bulk carriers. Currently, he sails as a Master Mariner with Synergy Group, leading vessels across international waters.
Beyond the ocean, Captain Bansal is deeply committed to guiding the next generation of Indian seafarers. With a strong belief in mentorship, honesty, and accessibility, he has mentored thousands of students, helping them build successful careers in the Merchant Navy while protecting them from scams and misinformation that plague the industry.
Driven by purpose, he also conducts free classes for students who are unable to afford even online fees—ensuring that financial barriers never stop someone from pursuing this royal profession. His goal is to introduce the Merchant Navy as a respected and viable career path to youth across every corner of India.
